DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz issued the following statement today on the passing of Dorothy Rodham, the mother of Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton: “With the passing of Dorothy Rodham earlier today at the age of 92, our country has lost a truly remarkable woman. Dorothy was known for her kind and generous spirit – a spirit that so many Americans had the opportunity to experience firsthand during Secretary Clinton's time in the White House as First Lady and then on the campaign trail in 2008. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a friend to many. But Dorothy will also be remembered for the difference she made in the lives of those she did not know – especially the countless neglected and abused children across the country who she was determined to help and whose cause she championed throughout her life. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts go out to Secretary and President Clinton and all of Dorothy’s loved ones.” |
