Rep. Deutch Statement on Supreme Court Decision Protecting Dreamers

Rep. Deutch Statement on Supreme Court Decision Protecting Dreamers

Following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling blocking the Trump Administration's callous attack on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, thus protecting the estimated 700,000 Dreamers from deportation, Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-22) issued this statement:

"Dreamers are our friends and our neighbors. They are students in our schools, members of our community, and future leaders of our country. For the estimated 700,000 Dreamers, home is here and they are not going anywhere.

"The Supreme Court did its job to block the Trump Administration's cruel attack on Dreamers. Now it is time for the Senate to pass American Dream and Promise Act to ensure their American dreams are protected permanently."
