· National Weather Service (NWS) reported at 5PM today that the Storm Center is 335 MILES from Miami International Airport
· The storm is 35 MPH and is expected to reach 45 MPH by Wednesday morning.
· Tropical Depressions are storms under 39 MPH and Tropical Storms are between 39 and 73 MPH so the NWS is calling this a “Minimal Tropical Storm”
· Flood Watch has been issued through Wednesday afternoon.
· Most of the region should receive 3 to 5 inches of rain between Wednesday early morning and afternoon.
· By Wednesday evening, most of the state should start drying out.
Update from U.S. Air Force:
BASED ON A BLEND OF THE AIRCRAFT...SURFACE...AND SATELLITE DATA THE CENTER HAS BEEN RELOCATED SLIGHTLY TO THE WEST OF THE PREVIOUS TRACK. NO SIGNIFICANT MODIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE TRACK FORECAST OR SYNOPTIC REASONING. A CONTINUED NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD MOTION WITH ACCELERATION...BETWEEN THE AFOREMENTIONED TROUGH AND A
MID-LEVEL ANTICYCLONE OVER THE WESTERN ATLANTIC...IS EXPECTED UNTIL THE SYSTEM DISSIPATES. THE TRACK FORECAST IS NOW A LITTLE TO THE EAST OF THE MODEL CONSENSUS.
UNLESS THE CIRCULATION OF THE CYCLONE TIGHTENS UP SOON...THE EXACT TRACK OF THE CENTER ACROSS CUBA AND FLORIDA WILL BE RELATIVELY UNIMPORTANT...SINCE THE STRONGEST WINDS AND HEAVIEST RAINS WILL OCCUR WELL REMOVED FROM THE CENTER OVER THE EASTERN SEMICIRCLE.

Do not walk through flowing and flood waters.
Do not drive through a flooded area.
Stay away from power lines and electrical wires.
Look before you step. Debris, such as broken bottles and nails, often cover the ground after a flood. Wear protective covering (boots, e.g.) on your feet at all times. Floors and stairs that have been covered with mud can be extremely slippery.
Clean every wet item. Floodwaters pick up sewage and chemicals from roads, farms, factories, and storage buildings. Therefore, flooded food, medicine, and cosmetics can be very hazardous.
Stay Safe! Stay Dry!
