Mayor Gary Resnick said "As Mayor and President of the League of Cities, I've pushed for legislation to end our state's ban on gay adoption. We were the only state in the nation where adoptions were not judged on what's in the best interests of the child, but on the sexual orientation of the adoptive parents. I'm thrilled that a Florida appellate court found this ban unconstitutional and that the State will stop enforcing it. The real winners here are the children who need caring, loving homes."
