BOOK COLLECTS $50K FOR BROWARD SENATE BID
Plantation Democrat Lauren Book collected another $50,000 in November for her bid to win a Broward County Senate seat, bringing her total to nearly $473,000 since starting to raise money Sept. 1, according to a newly filed finance report. Book, who is seeking next year to replace term-limited Sen. Eleanor Sobel, D-Hollywood, is a prominent advocate for children who have been sexually abused and is the daughter of influential lobbyist Ron Book. As of Nov. 30, Lauren Book had about $460,000 in campaign cash on hand. Her Democratic opponent for the Senate seat, Emmanuel Blimie, had not raised any money as of the end of October. An updated finance report for Blimie had not been posted on the state Division of Elections website Thursday morning.
