Broward Commissioner Tim Ryan Elected SFRTA Chair

Broward County Commissioner Tim Ryan Broward County Commissioner Tim Ryan has been elected to serve as the new Chair of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) Governing Board. The SFRTA manages Tri-Rail and brings representatives from Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties together to ensure a viable regional transportation system. "South Florida is growing rapidly and we must work together to develop and sustain an affordable, efficient and safe regional transportation system," Ryan said. "Reliable, user-friendly public transportation is key to ending traffic gridlock, protecting our environment and improving our overall quality of life." Commissioner Ryan is in his first year as a member of the SFRTA, and has served on the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization for three years. Palm Beach County Commissioner Steve Abrams was elected as Vice Chair of the SFRTA. The election took place at the Governing Board's June 24th meeting.
