Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum Announces He’s Running for Governor of Florida

Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum announced in a campaign video released this morning that he is running for Governor of Florida in 2018. 

Campaign supporters, friends and family will join Mayor Gillum for a kickoff rally at Kleman Plaza in Tallahassee on Saturday, March 4 with doors open at 11:00 a.m.

As Mayor, Andrew Gillum put forward a progressive vision on several key issues for Floridians including:

·         Creating the groundwork for an innovation economy;

·         Beating the gun lobby in court;

·         Standing up to President Trump on sanctuary cities;

·         Welcoming same-sex couples to get married in Tallahassee;

·         Calling out Donald Trump on lack of climate change action.

Gillum is a nationally recognized Democratic leader who spoke on stage at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. He lives with his wife R. Jai and their two children in Tallahassee, Florida.
