Hurricane season starts June 1, which means it’s that time of year again to stock up on essential supplies and develop a plan of action in the event a severe storm is headed toward South Florida.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration estimates that the 2017 hurricane season will have 11 to 17 named storms, including five to nine hurricanes – with two to four of those being major storms.
