Today, the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus responded to the Trump administration’s release of a guidance intended to ban transgender people from serving in the military.
“President Trump is spitting in the face of brave men and women who want nothing more than to serve their country with honor,” said LGBT Equality Caucus Executive Director Roddy Flynn. “Transgender service members volunteer their lives to protect the people and values of our nation. We should be grateful for their service and their sacrifice. The President’s decision runs counter to facts, medical research, and even the Pentagon’s own internal deliberation. This is a sad day for our nation and the LGBT Equality Caucus will be fighting every day to ensure this tragic policy is reversed.”
