Hastings, Wasserman Schultz, Deutch Host Affordable Care Act Event on Sunday

Reps. Alcee Hastings, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Ted Deutch will host various union, non-profit, health and community groups on Sunday to discuss the disastrous implications of repealing the Affordable Care Act without any replacement plan in place. Floridians would be hit particularly hard by repeal:
·         The 1.5 million people who gained coverage under ACA may lose their health insurance immediately.
·         An estimated 130,000 young adults under 26 face being kicked off a parent’s policy.
·         Up to 7.8 million people with pre-existing conditions could be denied coverage or see their costs skyrocket.
·         Just in 2015, 1.8 million seniors on Medicare took advantage of a free preventive screening.
·         The 8.8 million people with employer-based coverage would again face lifetime policy limits and discriminatory policies against women.

n the Senate, only Rand Paul strayed from the GOP's vote to start repealing Obamacare. In the House, the roll call to do the same is at http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2017/roll058.xml
