Gay Florida mayor hopes Mayor Naugle will come to his senses

Larry Gierer, the out, HIV-positive mayor of Oakland Park, Fla., is urging his colleague to the south, Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jim Naugle, to think before he brands all gays as unhappy. Gierer also urged the media to look beyond Naugle's headline-seeking comments and report on how neither Gierer's sexual orientation, nor his HIV-status, has proven to be much of an issue in his city.
