Join the Broward County Democratic Party Areas Nine and Ten for coffee and bagels as we begin our weekend of training and action in preparation for the Primary Elections on August 24. The event will be held at CWA Local 3104 Union Hall 3121 W McNab Rd in Pompano Beach, FL
Lunches will be potluck. Drinks will be provided for the entire day. Please bring a meat, a side dish, or a dessert (you only need to bring one thing, not all three!) each day you attend. Donations are welcome. While we would love to have you t...he entire day both days don’t feel you have to be here the entire time, pick and choose the parts of the schedule that appeal to you most. This is the tentative schedule:
Saturday July 31, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
8:00 am til Noon Coffee and Bagels and other assorted morning munchies provided by your local Democratic Clubs
9:00 am to 10:00 am Knock, Knock! Canvass Training + Naked Voting (please DO NOT STRIP!)
10:00 to 12:00 Canvassing for Kelly Skidmore (offsite) Bring high SPF sunscreen, comfortable clothing and your walking shoes! Sports Drinks and water will be provided.
10:00 am to 11:00 am Issues, Issues, Issues: Issues surrounding congressional campaigns like Ron Klein, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Ted Deutch, Kendrick Meek, Jeff Green, and Charlie Crist
11:00 to Noon Amendments Schmamendments: What are all these amendments the Republicans loaded on the Ballot?
Noon to 1:00 pm Potluck Lunch and Skidmore Canvass Debrief. Please bring a meat, a side dish, or a dessert (you only need to bring one thing, not all three!) Drinks will be provided.
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Counter Protesting the Tea Party (offsite) Bring high SPF sunscreen, comfortable clothing and your walking shoes! Sports Drinks and water will be provided.
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm A rally in support of President Obama and Ron Klein coming to a busy intersection near you with no Tea Party in Sight!
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Organizing for America Strategy Meeting for the Midterm Elections
2:00 pm to 3:00 pm (breakout session) Knock, Knock! Canvass Training + Naked Voting (please DO NOT STRIP!)
3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Canvassing for Ron Klein (offsite) Bring high SPF sunscreen, comfortable clothing and your walking shoes! Sports Drinks and water will be provided.
3:00 to 4:00 Sign Waving Debrief
3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Personalized VAN Training. Bring your laptop (if you have one). We will have computers for those who do not have a laptop and teach you how to look up things in your precinct. Requires a user name and password. If you do not have a user name or password, contact your area leader a week before the event so one can be setup for you. Your area leader will need an active email address from you to set this up. Seats are limited.
5:00 pm to 6:00 pm Snacks and Ron Klein canvass debrief

3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Phone Bank Training (in preparation for phone bank night on Wednesday August 4)
