Deutch Demands Palm Beach Co. Reimbursement for Pres. Trump's Mar-a-Lago Stays

Sheriff Bradshaw estimated $1.5 million cost incurred just during recent four-day stay with Chinese President.

Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-22) issued the following statement in response to Sheriff Ric Bradshaw’s report that the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office incurred $1.5 million in security costs just during President Trump’s most recent four-day visit with Chinese President Xi Jinping:

"It is unreasonable and unfair to expect the taxpayers of Palm Beach County to foot the bill each time the President chooses to visit his Mar-A-Lago resort. With the President expected to return for the eighth time tomorrow, we’ve seen what was once the 'Winter White House' become the new 'Weekend White House.' Congress must reimburse the county and ensure sufficient future funds to cover these costs if the President will not."
